These three Seahawks need to be great in week 7 versus the Arizona Cardinals.

The Seahawks have a tough assignment in week 7. They have to go on the road – albeit, a Cardinals team they normally defeat on the road and lose to at home – and face a team growing in confidence with a quarterback that looks like a young Russell Wilson in many ways.

To move to 6-0 for the first time in franchise history, the following three Seattle players need to be really good on Sunday.

Quinton Dunbar

Dunbar will be playing the side of the field where the Cardinals normally have DeAndre Hopkins. Hopkins is a great receiver. He has been for years and he currently leads the NFL in receiving yards with 601. But he is also third in targets with 61. This means Arizona is going to throw him the ball. A lot.

Hopkins is also 14th in catch percentage so when Arizona does throw him the ball, he catches it 77 percent of the time. Dunbar will have his work cut out. But if Dunbar can be great on Sunday, he can change the outcome of the game. Dunbar could have an interception or two, at least have the opportunity for that and more, and if he can make a big impact Seattle could win easily.

Jarran Reed

Interior pressure and constant interior pressure would flush Arizona Kyler Murray outside and force him into bad passes. No one can supply more interior pressure on the Seahawks roster than Jarran Reed.

But in five games, Reed has just 1 sack, 1 tackle for loss and 2 quarterback hits this year. That is not nearly good enough for a player that the Seahawks re-signed this offseason to a huge contract. Reed needs to be the best player on either team’s line in week 7 and if he is, the Seahawks win.

Chris Carson

Chris Carson has played three games against the Cardinals and in two of them has run for over 100 yards. He might have in week 16 of last year as well but he got hurt early in the game with an injury that changed Seattle’s offense into the postseason.

dark. Next. Should Seahawks trade for Aldon Smith?

If Seattle gives Carson the ball a bunch in week 7 and lets Carson grind out yards and eat clock, he will go over 100 yards rushing again and Seattle will win and move to 6-0.
