The Seattle Seahawks bounced back in Week 8 against divisional rival, San Francisco 49ers.

The Seattle Seahawks finally competed in a game that did not come down to the last play. It felt quite odd watching a Seahawks game feeling relaxed in the fourth quarter as they held a convincing lead over the San Francisco 49ers.

Week 8 saw the Seahawks play their best game of the year. They were efficient on offense and the defense finally showed up. Bobby Wagner had said it’s “put up or shut up” time. In yesterday’s win, it was put up time as the Seahawks defense balled out in spite of the several injuries. This was never really a close game until late in the fourth, when the Niners reeled in some garbage points.

With that said, it is time for the weekly grade report.

Offense

. Quarter Back. Seattle Seahawks. RUSSELL WILSON. A+

The Seahawks got off to a slow start yesterday, as both teams were shaky on offense. But, once Russell Wilson got into his rhythm, he looked at ease as he constantly led the Seahawks up and down the field. Last week against the Cardinals, Wilson threw three interceptions and in my grade report last week, I had mentioned Wilson will be extra careful with the ball in Week 8.

Wilson finished the game completing 27 of 37 for 261 yards and 4 touchdowns. He was sharp in his reads, precise with his throws and smart with his feet. He once displayed his great deep ball by hitting DK up the sidelines early in the game. But, this game saw Wilson hit more short to medium route throws. He was very effective and efficient in yesterday’s win and has silenced his haters once again after a subpar performance in Week 7.

. . Seattle Seahawks. RUNNING BACKS. A+

In Week 8, the running responsibility was put on the rookie. Both Chris Carson and Carlos Hyde were ruled out for this game with injuries that they sustained in the Week 7 defeat. Travis Homer was also banged up, but battled through the pain and played. He didn’t see much playing time, but he still suited up and carried the ball one time for four yards. Despite all of that, Seattle still rushed for over 100 yards.

The rookie out of Miami, DeeJay Dallas, stole the show recording two touchdowns yesterday. Going up against a top 5 defense in the NFL, Dallas was able to record 2 touchdowns in his first career NFL start. One came through the air and the other came through the ground. Dallas carried the ball 18 times for 41 yards, while also recording 5 catches for 17 yards. WR David Moore was also inputted into the running game with the jet motion. Overall, dealing with the injuries they have sustained, the rushing attack earned an A+ grade for their gritty performance.

A+. . . Seattle Seahawks. WIDE RECEIVERS / TIGHT END

DK Metcalf once again proved why he is going to be something special in this league. Last week, it was Tyler Lockett who stoled the showdown in the desert. Yesterday, it was DK who made it look easy recording 12 catches, 161 yards and 2 touchdowns. DK was a large part of the success that this offense had. Early in the game, while the offense was establishing their rhythm, it was DK’s motor that propelled the rest of this offense to kick it into high gear.

Outside of DK, no other wide receiver stood out. But, it is worth noting that David Moore had a couple of nice catches early on. Lockett had 4 catches for 33 yards. Wilson did miss Lockett on a deep pass late in the game that would have resulted in a touchdown. Dissly and Hollister were the only TE’s that recorded a catch. Overall, the hand’s team did a good job led by none other than the young star in the making, DK Metcalf.

. Seattle Seahawks. OFFENSIVE LINE . A+.

In spite of the all injuries that the Niners have sustained on the defensive side of the ball, they somehow still managed a way to wreak havoc. In yesterday’s win, Mike Iupati once again was sidelined with a back injury. Jordan Simmons filled in for him and did a good job. The Seahawks offensive lined started off sloppy with some silly penalties early on but managed their way into playing a great game.

Wilson was only sacked twice in the win. The Niners also recorded 3 quarterbacks hits. But, in comparison to last week’s loss, they did a great job. Wilson never seemed to be rattled by the pressure. Or, he never got rid of the ball early because of the pressure. He had time to go through his reads and deliver his strikes. The offensive line bounced back nicely in this game and I must say, they are having a great year in protecting #3.
