Surprises and disappointments for the Bills in 2020

12th Man Rising: What are a couple of happy surprises and a couple of disappointments from the Bills in 2020?

Brandon Croce: The passing game has certainly been a great surprise. Entering this season, the hope was that Josh Allen would take that next step and he certainly has done that. The Bills trio of wide receivers of Stefon Diggs, John Brown and Cole Beasley have been very productive and been a boost for this offense.

In terms of disappointments, can I say the entire defense? This was a group that was one of the best in the league last year but this season they have really struggled in almost every area. The coaching staff seems to know they are limited and enter each week looking to sell out in stopping one part of the offense.

In the game against the Titans, it was the run game but Ryan Tannehill had a great game through the air. In the game against the Chiefs, the Bills sold out stopping the pass while Clyde Edwards-Helaire would go on to have a career game running the ball.

So far this season, the defense just hasn’t been able to have that complete shutdown performance.
