Despite the loss in Buffalo, the Seahawks remain first in the NFC West.

Entering Week 9, the Seattle Seahawks were coming off a big win over the Niners and were looking to increase their divisional lead by beating the Buffalo Bills. Unfortunately, things didn’t pan out too well as the Seahawks suffered their worse defeat of the year. The team played sloppy all throughout and buried themselves in too deep of a grave early on. Russell Wilson made some unforced errors and didn’t receive any help from his defense as they got torched from start to finish.

But, thanks to the Miami Dolphins, the Seattle Seahawks remain in first place. The Dolphins picked up a huge win over the Cardinals as Tua Tagovailoa and Kyler Murray battled it out. If the Cardinals had won, they have would moved into first place as they had defeated the Seahawks a couple of weeks ago.

The San Francisco 49ers got routed on Thursday Night Football by the Green Bay Packers and the Los Angeles Rams had a bye week. As we approach the latter half of the season, each game will have more meaning, especially, when it is a divisional game. The Cardinals, Rams, and Seahawks are all in play to not only secure the NFC West, but the number 1 seed in the NFC.

Week 9 Recap:

Green Bay Packers defeat San Francisco 49ers, 34-17

Prior to kickoff, the Packers received the good news that HB Aaron Jones, would be good to go. In a game in which both teams were dealing COVID issues as well as injures, the Packers were just slightly less injured and so, they came out victorious. This was never really close as Rodgers finally had his way with this banged-up San Francisco defense. Davante Adams once again balled out and the Packers picked up a nice bounce-back win. The 49ers on the other hand, remain banged up and will be going up against the New Orleans Saints this week.

Buffalo Bills defeat Seattle Seahawks, 44-34

The Bills simply outplayed the Seahawks in every facet of this game. They started off the game with a nice kick return, that put them in good field position. They cashed in by scoring a touchdown. Their first four drives went touchdown, touchdown, field goal, touchdown. Seattle’s defense had no answer as they were prepared for the Buffalo rushing attack. Much credit goes to the Buffalo coaching staff as they designed a great game-plan to attack this weakened secondary.  For Seattle, the only thing they can take away from this game is the defensive front was solid as they reeled in 7 sacks…And it’s good to have Jamal Adams back.

Miami Dolphins defeat Arizona Cardinals, 34-31

At the beginning of the season, not too many were expecting this kind of game when these two teams were scheduled to meet up. The Dolphins have been red hot as of late and the Cardinals were coming off a bye with an opportunity to take first place in the NFC West. In what was mainly a back and forth game that saw crazy plays from both young quarterbacks, the Dolphins got the last laugh as Cardinals kicker Zane Gonzalez missed the game-tying field goal with under 2 minutes remaining in regulation. I will say, the Cardinals did a good job of putting points on the board against the number 1 scoring defense in the NFL.

Week 10 Preview:

Buffalo Bills @ Arizona Cardinals (-2)

The Buffalo Bills are riding a 3 game win streak while the Cardinals are looking to bounce back. This game is big for both teams as the Bills are looking to increase their divisional lead, while the Cardinals are trying to climb to first in theirs. This game is going to come down to Josh Allen and if he is capable enough of making the big plays when they count. I think the Buffalo defense will do a good job of containing Kyler, so I am going to take the points on the Bills in this one. Expect a close game, but I got the Bills winning by 4.

San Francisco 49ers @ New Orleans Saints (-9)

This was one of the many circled games on the calendar for this season. Last year, when these two teams met in New Orleans, there were fireworks. It was a candidate for game of the year and Jimmy Garoppolo’s potential coming out party. But, the 49ers are really banged up and they will be without too many key players in this one to keep it close. I think the Saints will ride the momentum of their big win in last week and get Michael Thomas heavily involved in this offense. I got the Saints winning big in this one.

Seattle Seahawks @ Los Angeles Rams (-1.5)

It appears that Vegas has given up on the Seahawks defense. This is the first time on the year they are underdogs. When these two teams meet, fans are always treated to a good game. This year, it is the Rams defense versus the Seahawks offense. Aaron Donald will be a key figure to watch in this one. As well as the matchup between Jalen Ramsey and D.K. Metcalf. All around, I expect a close game. But, I’m riding with the Seahawks in this one. They played too poorly last week and Coach Carroll’s teams have generally been good at bouncing back.
