The Seahawks will add back Chris Carson and Shaquill Griffin in week 12 versus the Eagles.

Your Seattle Seahawks are 7-3 and head into a matchup with the 3-6-1 Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football in week 12. The odd thing is that one of these teams was in first place heading into this week and the other is not and the one that is not is Seattle. Philadelphia is a bad team in a horrible division. Seattle is a good team in a very good division.

Seattle could be missing a couple of important players this week but are also getting some good ones back. The Eagles are even more banged up. Here is who is in and out for the Seahawks and Philly this week.

Chris Carson and Shaquill Griffin are back!

12s all saw what a huge difference Carlos Hyde made when he returned in week 11 versus the Arizona Cardinals. Russell Wilson didn’t actually have to try to win the game all by himself and played more efficiently as did the offense as a whole. Now Chris Carson returns after missing every game since week 7 and he is the alpha of Seattle’s backs. His presence alone will make the offense better.

The same should go for the secondary. Cornerback Shaquill Griffin will be back after missing several games so that will help. Tre Flowers has played better the last couple of games, so if Flowers continues this trend coupled with the return of Griffin, Seattle’s secondary might be the best it has been all season.

Center Ethan Pocic will come back too after missing a game with a concussion. In his absence, Seattle moved rookie Damien Lewis to center, a position he had never played. Lewis played admirably if not well and getting him back to guard and Pocic at center is a very good thing.

Out for the Seahawks

Seattle’s biggest issue on Monday might be that right tackle Brandon Shell is out with a knee issue. Shell might be out for a bit with the injury. In his place will step Cedric Ogbuehi. Ogbuehi has been a decent reserve but will be going up against Brandon Graham. The Eagles defensive end has 7 sacks and 12 quarterback hits this season, both numbers would lead the Seahawks if Graham played for Seattle.

Backup running back Travis Homer is also out with three different injuries. Homer would likely have been the fourth back on the depth chart anyway with the return of Carson and has seemingly lost his kickoff return duties to D.J. Reed.

Seattle doubtfuls

Which brings me to Reed. He is questionable with a foot injury. Also questionable is receiver David Moore with a hip injury. One of these players will likely play and let’s hope it is Reed. Reed has been good in the secondary and been electric on minimal kickoff returns. If Homer, Moore and Reed all have to miss the game on Monday, who is going to return kicks and punts? Possibly Tyler Lockett.

Eagles injuries

Philadelphia has allowed Carson Wentz (who does hold on to the ball too long anyway) to be sacked 40 times so far in 2020. Now the Eagles will definitely be without tackle Lane Johnson (ankle), the Eagles best offensive lineman, and could be without Jason Peters (toe) too. Even if Peters plays, he won’t be 100 percent. If Seattle can’t get pressure on Wentz and affect the game this way, they will have no excuses.
