Defense shines bright once again

For the majority of the season, many have been critical of this Seattle defense and rightfully so. They struggled to apply pressure on any quarterback and as a result, the secondary would get shredded. But, after making the move for Carlos Dunlap, the flip has switched. Ever since Dunlap has made his Seattle debut, he has gotten a sack in each of his first four games.

His presence alone has sparked a new energy into this front four. They now have recorded 19 sacks in their last four games, which is the most by any team. Granted, the Seahawks brought more pressure, but they have figured out their defensive woes. Whether it means blitzing more or not, they are finally getting to the quarterback. Last night, right from the get-go, this defensive front went after Wentz and rattled him with pressure.

This is what championship defenses do. For weeks and weeks, 12s have been hoping for a better start from their defense. In fact, in their last loss against the Rams, they couldn’t get a first half stop. They figured it out too late. In the past two weeks, they have been physical and aggressive right from the start. They held the Cardinals to 21 points and the Eagles to 17. It really should have been 9 as the Eagles converted on a hail marry late in the game.

Regardless, this defense was able to rack up 6 sacks and force 1 interception last night. CB Shaquill Griffin made his return after missing four games. The key for this defense is the same for the offense: just remain healthy. We are now starting to see this defense develop more chemistry and as a result, play with more swag.

After Quandre Diggs intercepted Wentz last night, he and his fellow teammates trolled the Eagles in the end zone.

This is just the beginning and 12s should be excited about the future of this defense.
