Seahawks versus Giants: 3 bold predictions week 13
By Lee Vowell
The Seahawks will win an ugly game
Once again the Seahawks will not have any 12s at Luman Field which makes it easier for opposing teams. Seattle is still unbeaten at home in 2020 and will remain so after week 13 but 12s could have really affected this game. Colt McCoy is rusty and not being able to be heard would have been huge but we won’t get that.
This will be a low-scoring game that will be tense into the fourth quarter. New York’s defense will stuff the run early meaning Russell Wilson will be forced to try to win the game on his own. The last few weeks Wilson has held back after a rash of games where he turned the ball over seemingly 18 times a game. Wilson might take a few more chances in this game and the Giants have created a turnover on 14.4 percent of opposing offense’s drives, 9th in the league.
The Giants have also forced 9 fumbles which is third-most in the NFL so Chris Carson will need to continue his 2020 trend of not losing a fumble after losing 8 in 2019.
But forget all this doom and gloom, this is a game that will be one by the Seahawks defense and D.J. Reed returning kicks. The Giants are 20th in the NFL allowing 23.2 per kick return and since beginning to return kicks for Seattle this year Reed has averaged 28.8 yards with a long of 49. Reed will break a long one in week 13.
Reed will also start at the corner opposite Shaquil Griffin and I think this is a very good thing. Reed could be a starter in the NFL at corner and Reed and Griffin could potentially be Seattle’s best duo.
The Giants running game will be limited, McCoy won’t do anything scary and the Seahawks will win 21-10.
