The left side of Seahawks defensive line

The Giants have allowed a total of 31 sacks this season and the left side of their offensive line deserves a big part of the blame.

On the left side guarding their quarterback, the Giants have rookie Andrew Thomas at left tackle and Shane Lemieux at left guard. Both of them have been the Achilles heel of the Giants team and woes.

Thomas was selected fourth overall by the Giants in the most recent draft and being drafted that high comes with lofty expectations. So far, Thomas has failed to perform like a top pick never mind a first round selection.

He has tied for the third most sacks allowed with a total of six. While he has picked it up since he’s gotten experience playing against professional defensive linemen, he hasn’t played well pretty much all season.

Lemieux, who was drafted in the fifth round in 2020 hasn’t done that much better than Thomas. While he has allowed fewer sacks (two), he’s been given a rating of 31.9 for his performance so far this season by Pro Football Focus (PFF).

This is the time for the Seahawks left side of the defensive line to pounce on the Giants weakness and get to the quarterback. Left defensive end Carlos Dunlap and left defensive tackle Poona Ford will have a tasty matchup where they could get multiple sacks and tackles for losses.
