12th Man Rising: The Seahawks and Giants don’t play that often. Who are a couple of under-the-radar Giants that Seahawks fans should be more aware of?

Danny FriedmanSeahawks fans should know all the Giants’ outside linebackers on Sunday. All four outside backers (Markus Golden, Kyler Fackrell, Lorenzo Carter, and Oshane Ximines)  to start the year are now gone via trade or on the IR. In their place are the newcomers Jabaal Sheard, Carter Coughlin, Cam Brown, and Niko Lalos. These players will be responsible for supplementing the d-line with some blitzes off the edge and will help with containing Russell Wilson in the pocket.

Sheard made the game’s biggest play last week with the game-winning sack and forced fumble recovered by NY, Cam Brown saved the game for Big Blue with a last-gasp shoestring tackle on the Bengals’ last punt return, and Niko Lalos made a huge diving interception in his first NFL game. These guys will be counted on to make a big impact Sunday and Sheard, Cam Brown, and Lalos are guys to watch out for.

In the secondary, expect the feisty Darnay Holmes to try and run around with Tyler Lockett all afternoon. He is a talented rookie from UCLA who does his primary work in the slot and has had a solid season. I am excited to see former All-American safety Xavier McKinney in his second NFL game make a bigger impact on the defense too as a 2020 2nd round pick from Alabama.
