Seahawks versus Jets: 5 bold predictions for week 14
By Lee Vowell
New York Jets will run for 160 yards
The Jets offense is awful and so is their defense. But this team does not appear to have quit. Yes, they lose every week and losses don’t get much worse than the way the Jets lost to the Raiders last week. New York was just about to win its first game of the season and found a way to lose with seconds left.
But one thing New York did well was run the ball. If anyone saw the Seahawks play the Giants in week 13 (and I am sorry if you did) then you saw how the Giants ran all over Seattle in the third quarter on their way to 190 yards rushing. Seattle knew the Giants had to run with Colt McCoy playing quarterback and Seattle didn’t stop the Giants.
The Jets can, if anything at all, run the ball based on their week 13 results. They may have found a small answer to their gigantic offensive issue: Running the ball and they will do this against Seattle for a few reasons.
First, I think the Jets found that Ty Johnson is a decent player and Johnson after a 104-yard performance against the Raiders will be brimming with confidence. He won’t score many touchdowns against the Seahawks but he will chew up yards rushing and have a few runs that go for 10 yards or more.
