Seahawks versus Jets: 5 bold predictions for week 14
By Lee Vowell
Chris Carson gets 15 carries but for just 37 yards
All that said about Russell Wilson, the Seahawks might still try to get Chris Carson more involved running the ball in week 14. Carson hasn’t been overly healthy the last half of the year and hasn’t had more than 13 carries in any game since week 4 when he had 16. Forcing Carson against the Jets in week 14 isn’t the smart way of doing things.
Oh, I think Carson can get some yards but New York is just terrible against the pass. Like I said, though, Seattle might see Russell Wilson’s perceived slump and try to fix that by rushing Carson more. Week 14 does mark the first of the final four games of the regular season for Seattle and the final quarter of the season has been important under Pete Carroll.
This usually means more running and tight games. Week 14 does not need to be a tight game. It needs to be a blowout and Seattle needs to let Wilson and D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett air it out. But Carson will likely get lots of early carries and mostly he will hit brick walls, so Seattle will try and try again.
By the end, Carson will have run 15 times but for just 37 yards with a long of seven. Carson will come out of the game healthy, though, and that will be the best thing. That and the fact that Carson will have caught five passes for 54 yards and a touchdown.
