2nd Quarter
A few plays into the second quarter, Ryan Kerrigan managed to sack Wilson for a loss of 13 yards. Wilson threw a pass intended for Nick Bellore in the end zone but was intercepted by Fuller again.
With Wilson struggling mightily, the team had enough of him and replaced him with Geno Smith with 10:56 left in the second quarter.
Smith got sacked by Young for a loss of six yards but made a big impact by connecting with Tyler Lockett for a 61-yard play. Smith got sacked again but this time by Kerrigan. At least the Seahawks did get their first points of the game though coming off a 27-yard field goal from Jason Myers.
Cody Barton managed to get past the Washington offensive line to sack Alex Smith for a loss of five yards. Smith then ran the ball himself and lost the ball from a forced fumble by Bobby Wagner but that didn’t matter as Reed was called for offside. Wagner redeemed himself the next play though by getting a sack for a loss of six yards.
With the Seahawks in need of points, they attempted to go for a 57-yard field goal but came up short of doing so.
McLaurin got a 25-yard catch. A few plays later, the ball was handed off to Gibson in the red zone but he fumbled the ball at the one-yard line which was recovered by Barton.
With not a lot of space, Smith ran back a bit but went too far as he went out of bounds which gave Washington two points because of a safety.
Washington attempted to do a fake punt on fourth and two and 41 yards away from the end zone but were unsuccessful.
Jonathan Allen got his first sack of the game near the end of the second quarter for a loss of 20 yards.
Score after the second quarter: Washington 30 Seahawks 3
