Seahawks versus Rams week 16: 3 bold predictions
By Lee Vowell
Seahawks win by 10 points
I have followed the Seahawks for many years and Seattle has been pretty good for most of a decade. Even when Seattle was truly great between 2013 and 2015, Seattle had trouble beating the Rams and went 3-3 in those years against Los Angeles. The last time Seattle defeated Los Angeles by more than 10 points was 2016 when Seattle won 24-3.
While Seattle struggled to score points against Los Angeles the last couple of times the teams have faced off (the Seahawks scored 12 in a loss to the Rams last December) and scored 16 in the loss in week 10, Seattle also scored 30 or more points against the Rams in the three games previous to the last two.
I do not think that the Rams are in any way deflated by their week 15 loss to the New York Jets and will probably use that as a motivating factor against Seattle. But no matter what, Seattle is a much better team than the Jets, clearly, and there was a reason the Rams lost to New York. New York controlled the clock and didn’t turn the ball over.
This is exactly what the Seahawks need to do in week 16 and will do. Russell Wilson will throw underneath and not try to make plays that aren’t there, Carson and company will run the ball extremely effectively and the defense will pressure the Rams into a couple of mistakes. Seattle will win 24-14.
