A. . . Seattle Seahawks. SPECIAL TEAMS

Another game, another impressive performance from punter Michael Dickson. I don’t understand how Dickson was not selected to the pro bowl, but that is a discussion for another day. In the 5 punts that Dickson had, 4 of them landed inside the 20. Seattle won the field possession battle and a large part of that is due to the excellent punting of Dickson.

K Jason Meyers was another player who got snubbed. He has been exceptional all year long kicking field goals and banged in two more from 40+ yards in the win over the Rams.

I wanted to give the Seahawks special teams an A+, but DB Ryan Neal got a roughing the punter call that granted the Rams a first down. Those types of plays must be eliminated heading into the playoffs. In a playoff game, the last thing you want to do is give the opposing offense a fresh set of downs.

Last week, I had mentioned Cody Barton (#57) and how all you have to do is follow him on kickoffs and punts. Well, yesterday there he was again flying around the field, making tackles. In fact, he forced a fumble on a punt which was recovered by the Rams. Overall, it was a great day for the Seahawks special teams.
