Here are three quick reasons the Seahawks will beat the Rams on Saturday.

Just when it seemed the Seahawks wouldn’t have to face the Rams in an important game again this year, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray had to get injured and miss week 17 and the Rams defeated the Cardinals and the Rams made the playoffs and the Cardinals didn’t.

I only write that because, to be honest, I would rather the Seahawks face the Cardinals than the Rams as the Rams have been a thorn in Russell Wilson and Seattle’s side for years. Still, I have reasons for hope and here are three quick reasons.

Jamal Adams isn’t going to let the Seahawks lose this game

Safety Jamal Adams has been waiting his whole NFL career for a playoff game. He was injured in week 17 against the 49ers and had to leave the game with a shoulder injury. He wanted to re-enter the game but the medical staff wouldn’t let him. Even banged-up he said he was going to play on Saturday and there was no doubt in his mind.

Do you think Adams isn’t going to come out with a ton of energy and the rest of the defense will feed off that? No. Adams isn’t going to be in a frenzy the entire game and create chaos and lead Seattle to a win that is led by a dominating Seattle defense.

Russell Wilson

I realize Russell Wilson has not been himself the last bit but this is the playoffs and Wilson is good in the postseason. Seattle lost to the Packers last year in Green Bay but not because of Wilson. In the second half Wilson led a comeback that almost won the game so you can never count him out in the postseason.

Wilson has a quarterback rating of 105.9 or better in four of his last five playoff games and hasn’t thrown an interception in the playoffs since 2016. Wilson will be fine against the Rams and so will the Seahawks.

Confidence

The Seahawks seem most times that they are going up against a brick wall when they play the Rams. But week 16 will be telling. While the Rams were playing without running back Cam Akers they basically had everyone else available. Seattle held them to 9 points and the offense was good in the second half.

I think Seattle learned something about itself in that second half and how they should approach the Rams. If the Seahawks were not sure they could beat the Rams before week 16, they are now.
