Carlos Dunlap (2020)

I know, many 12s are reading this and thinking, what if the Seahawks resign him? Well, if they do, then this doesn’t count. But, for the time being, it does and deservedly so might I add.

After acquiring Dunlap via trade with the Cincinnati Bengals, his impact was immediately felt. Unlike Jerry Rice and Edgerrin James, Dunlap makes this thread because he was dominant in this Seattle defense.

Prior to acquiring Dunlap, Seattle’s pass rush was getting as much pressure as a motel shower head. But, after his arrival – this defense found new life. In his 8 games in Seattle, he recorded 5 sacks, forced 2 fumbles and accounted for 14 quarterback hits.

He helped propel this Seattle defense to one of the better defenses in the NFL throughout the second half of the season. His mere presence alone made everyone else on the defensive line better.

While the Seahawks season came to a disappointing end, they were able to finish as NFC West champs in a large part due to the overall impact Dunlap had on this defense.

While his future remains up in the air, I know I will not complain if he is brought back.
