Seahawks front 7

When we combine the ratings for each player, the Seahawks rank fifth overall as a front seven. They have one or two stars, some potential coming through, some vets that still perform and a couple of areas in need of improvement.

Here are the top ten according to my rating system.

  1. Pittsburgh
  2. New Orleans
  3. San Francisco
  4. LA Rams
  5. Seattle
  6. Tampa Bay
  7. Denver
  8. Cleveland
  9. Washington
  10. NY Jets

Overall a fifth-best front seven looks good for the Seahawks going into 2021. Seven of the top ten listed above made the playoffs last season, so this shows the value of being strong in this department.

It is not essential though, as demonstrated by three of the last four teams standing last season being ranked in the bottom half of the league. Green Bay at 18th, Kansas City at 22nd and Buffalo at a lowly 31st. Houston has the worst front seven in the league on my list.

What this list also shows is that whilst we can be happy to see the Seahawks at fifth, two of their divisional rivals rate higher, with the 49ers ranked third and the Rams fourth. Arizona ranks 24th on my list, in what is by far the best division in the NFL for defensive front sevens.
