Player 3: Robert Rochell, CB

Rochell is one of those players that isn’t talked about near enough. He is an athletic marvel that could do wonders in the Seahawks scheme.

Rochell’s measurements/ testing:

  • Height: 5’11”
  • Weight: 195lbs
  • Arm-length: 32 3/8 inch
  • 40-yard dash: 4.41 seconds
  • 3-cone: 6.84 seconds
  • Short shuttle: 4.08 seconds
  • Vertical jump: 43 inches
  • Broad jump: 133 inches
  • Bench press: 9 reps

Rochell is a player who excels in creating turnovers. He has great instincts and awareness. This is very understandable considering he has a background as a receiver before transitioning to the defensive side of the ball.

He has enough of a closing speed to make up for the lost space and make the play. He also has a lot of experience in special teams. Gives him a very safe floor.

The biggest docks against Rochell are his less than fluid hips. He also has some inconsistencies with the tackling form. This is likely in part due to his limited experience on the defensive side of the ball.

If the Seahawks make a move for a corner in the middle of the draft, my money is firmly on Rochell. He has the versatility to play safety or corner with a very safe floor as a special teams contributor.

Round projection: 4th round.
