Seahawks will face a lot of decisions with their own 2022 free agents

Seahawks free agent QBs
When you have a starting QB as good and as durable as Russell Wilson the backups are rarely required, and long may that continue.
Geno Smith has been a backup to Wilson for the last two seasons but has only been called upon to make five pass attempts in those two years. He will be 31 when free agency arrives in 2022, but his future role will depend on if and when the Seahawks look to draft a QB.
At the moment Smith is seen as the reliable veteran backup and is only costing about $1.25 million a year. I suspect he is likely to get another one-year contract for 2022 at a similar price.
Alex McGough and Danny Etling are both seventh round draft picks who have received one-year contracts for 2021, they never had a pass attempt as a Seahawk. Their future is probably similar to Smith’s as the Seahawks may decide to keep a settled QB room whilst Wilson is as reliable and great as he is.
Adding any sort of new QB with any ability would need to be agreed by Wilson, as we have seen elsewhere in the NFL how sensitive star QB’s can be when they are not on board with these moves.
So these guys will be well advised to stay as friendly as they can with Russell Wilson, as their future is highly dependant on who Wilson likes and wants to have in the QB room with him.
