AFC South

Let’s start with the AFC division that the Seahawks will face off against. I have Seattle going 3-1 against a fairly weak AFC South. The one loss I have them taking is in Week 1 in Indianapolis against the Colts.

Outside of last year’s opener against Atlanta, Seattle has always struggled in Week 1. This year, with a new offensive coordinator and some new pieces on both sides of the ball, I expect Seattle to start off sluggish. Plus, the Colts have one of the better rosters in the league. Defensively, they have a nice and upcoming young core that impressed last year. Offensively, they have a top 5 offensive line.

But, I like them to beat the rest of the division. Houston is a dumpster fire. Amid the Deshaun Watson trade rumors came an outbreak of sexual assault cases against the star quarterback. It doesn’t appear as if he will be playing this year. Jacksonville is in the rebuilding stages and isn’t quite ready to win.

Although I do believe Trevor Lawrence will be great, rookies tend to struggle in their first year — especially against good defensive coaches. Seattle’s home opener comes against Tennessee, in which I anticipate a high-scoring affair. In a shootout, give me Russell Wilson over Ryan Tannehill.
