Number three: Duane Brown

Duane Brown will have to be replaced at some point. He will be 36 years old when the 2021 season begins and this is getting really old in football years. But Brown continues to perform at an exceedingly high level. According to PFF, Brown was the fifth-best tackle in 2020. And Seattle has no one close to Brown’s skill level.

Also according to PFF, Brown had his highest-graded season since 2012 in 2021. Of course, PFF is not the end-all of valuations in the NFL but it is still a reputable source. That and 12s can see full well what a difference Brown makes on Seattle’s offensive line when he is in the game and when he isn’t.

Brown is not only irreplaceable for Seattle, he is one of their better players overall. The depth behind him is a scary thing. Brandon Shell is much more of a right tackle and can’t simply be flipped to the left side if Brown were to be injured. Stone Forsythe is a raw rookie and Jamarco Jones has been better as a guard in his career than a tackle.

For those reasons, Duane Brown isn’t just irreplaceable in 2021 but for the foreseeable future. 12s should feel appreciative that Brown is a Seahawk just as I am sure Russell Wilson is as well.
