Richard Sherman

I am going to keep asking for this. Richard Sherman needs to return to the Seahawks. He is still a very good player and one who has never relied on pure speed to make him great. Sherman is super smart with excellent size and knows how to position himself in preparation for each throw.

If Seattle were to sign Sherman (who still owns a home in the Seattle area so clearly he is not a hater of the PNW), he would not be the Sherman of 2013 and 2014. But he would be the best cornerback that the Seahawks have on the team. In fact, sign Sherman for two years and he would still be the best CB on the team.

Plus, players like Tre Brown, though a different size, could learn from Sherman on how to put oneself in the best position to succeed. Sherman knows what a quarterback is thinking before the play most times. This is stuff he could teach.

Re-signing Sherman would also give Seattle a bit of menace back. One thing that Legion of Boom players like Sherman and Kam Chancellor had was a way of imposing their physicality on opposing teams. There was a bit of fear when a team would play the Seahawks. This has been lacking the last few years.

Yes, Seattle still has talent without Sherman but they don’t have the same kind of swagger. Seattle needs to get that back. Richard Sherman should be re-signed both for his skill and his attitude and to help Seattle get one step closer to the Super Bowl.
