FanSided Rams site, Ramblin Fan, says LA should sign K.J. Wright. But the former Seahawks linebacker might still end up back in Seattle. To be fair, this headline saying Wright is the Seahawks linebacker is a bit wrong. That sounds weird to say.

Wright has put his body on the line for the Seahawks for 10 seasons since 2011. This was before Russell Wilson came to Seattle. Heck, it is longer than Bobby Wagner too. And Wright has been a great player for Seattle. Maybe not a perennial Pro Bowler (he made one Pro Bowl in 2018 but has deserved more) but a very good player linebacker by NFL standards and has formed one of the best linebacker duos ever in the league.

Seeing Wright play in another uniform just seems, well, wrong. But Seattle might choose to go with youth over Wright’s veteran abilities. Jordyn Brooks is faster than Wright and the former first-round draft pick deserves a chance to start. This basically puts Wright out of the rotation but maybe Seattle should go one more year of Wagner-Wright instead of Wagner-Brooks.

K.J. Wright to Rams would be bad for the Seahawks

Ramblin Fan is right to want Wright. He would give the team leadership among a relatively youthful linebacker corps beyond the fact that Wright is still a really good football player. Not only that but Wright would be a leader in the locker room overall because he has done well in his career, won a Super Bowl and is basically a fantastic human being.

But if K.J. Wright goes anywhere else other than playing in a Seahawks uniform it should not be in conference and it should definitely not be in the NFC West. I say this as a Seattle fan instead of one who judges where Wright should play. He should play with the team that pays him well.

Next. Shaquem Griffin gone too? No!. dark

But I don’t want to see K.J. Wright in any other uniform than the Seahawks. One day he should be inducted into the Ring of Honor, maybe be involved in the front office, maybe a coach. But he needs to stay a Seahawk. And well, never be a Los Angeles Ram.
