Trade one

Seahawks get: Cornerback Stephon Gilmore

Patriots get: Seahawks third round pick in 2022 and fifth round in 2023

I am going to keep harping on my belief that I think the Seahawks need to go get a very good cornerback. Richard Sherman could still wind up in Seattle but he appears to have some off-the-field issues that he is having to focus on currently and who knows when or if he will play in 2021.

Stephon Gilmore is not happy with the Patriots. As I stated before, Bill Belichick likes to acquire draft picks. Seattle giving two mid-round picks for Gilmore might just entice Belichick enough to pull the trigger on the trade. Then Seattle needs to extend Gilmore after the trade.

Gilmore is getting to be older but is still very good. His skills at corner would make the Seahawks defensive even better and Seattle is potentially very good defensively in 2021. But they have one obvious flaw and that is at cornerback. Offseason acquisition Ahkello Witherspoon is going to look good in training camp because nearly every player looks good in camp.

None of the current Seahawk corners have proven to be very good for an entire season. Gilmore is a four-time Pro Bowler, including each of the last three years, and a two-time First-Team All-Pro. Gilmore is a better corner than anyone else on the Seattle roster and one of the best in the NFL. Seattle could be a Super Bowl team this year and adding Gilmore gets them one step closer to being so.
