The Seahawks travel to Indianapolis to play the Colts in week one. There are three Seattle players that need to play at maximum ability for a win. I mean, obviously there are a ton of players that need to do well. Russell Wilson could be mentioned in an article like this every week but that would be too easy. What about three other Seattle players, though?

I could mention Tre Flowers and D.J. Reed on this list but so much of what they do is going to be predicated on how well Seattle rushes the passer. The Seahawks should have a very good pass rush in 2021 and if they don’t, the defense will fail. A lack of pressure would put too much pressure on any cornerback group.

The interior of the defensive line also needs to hold up but that is more of an entire group that needs to do well instead of a singular player (or players if it’s just one certain position). So who might make or break the game for Seattle versus the Colts.

Three Seahawks to be concerned about week one

Kyle Fuller/Ethan Pocic

OK, I cheated but just a bit. This comes down to a position, though, that only one person can play. That person is likely to either be Fuller or Pocic and I am not sure either is a very good answer. The worst part of this is that Seattle added guard Gabe Jackson this offseason and he is pretty good. If Brandon Shell can stay healthy at right tackle, then Seattle’s line with Jackson, Shell, Damien Lewis and Duane Brown could be really good if whoever is playing center is decemt/

But there are no guarantees through the season that Fuller or Pocic will be good for more than three or four games in a row. I say this because Pocic was good for the first five games of 2020 and then not good or injured. Fuller has yet to prove himself in the NFL.
