With week one in the books and the Seahawks holding a 1-0 record, it’s time to take a look at three players that will be influential to this Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans.

These three players will have significant impacts on the outcome of the game, and if they each play well the Seahawks should have no trouble knocking off the Titans.

3 Seahawks you should be watching in week 2 versus the Titans

Carlos Dunlap

We all saw what Chandler Jones did to the Titans offensive line and, in turn, Ryan Tannehill a week ago.  I’m not saying Carlos Dunlap is Chandler Jones, but I am saying that the Titans O-line looked bad last week.  I expect Dunlap to take advantage if they play that way again, and if he can get to the quarterback and put up 4 or 5 pressures ending in maybe 2 sacks it would make me happy.  And if Dunlap doesn’t put up those stats, then I expect others like Darrell Taylor and Rasheem Green to pick up the slack.

Chris Carson

Everyone knows that when you play against the Titans, you should expect to see number 22 carrying the ball quite a bit.  But what I’m more interested in is whether the Seahawks will be able to run the ball effectively this afternoon.  Carson and Penny did work on the ground in week one, and Chris Carson averaged 5.7 yards per carry.

The Titans defensive front doesn’t scare me, so I hope to see a similar game from Carson.  He will be even more important if the weather is not the best.  If he can hit 100 yards rushing, it will show that the Seahawks can succeed with a balanced Waldron offense.

DJ Reed

Reed may be the key piece to watch.  The Titans receiving corps is uber-talented, and Reed will need to step up big to guard a receiver who has a size advantage on him.  The key to a  win will be to limit over-the-top plays.  Short runs will not affect momentum, but letting Julio or AJ Brown get open deep will get in the heads of the Seattle defenders.  Keep an eye on Reed, and see if he can rise to meet the moment and defend effectively in the secondary.

You know the drill, the Seahawks need every team member to play well to carry out a good team win like they did last week.  But these three guys will be especially important to the team’s effort today to knock off a Titans team that won its division last season.
