The Seahawks vs. Vikings contest will be a tough one, I agree. I don’t believe it’s going to shape up the same way as one of the Vikings experts predicts. Well, not entirely.

The Seahawks have their work cut out for them today vs the Vikings. Our sister site, The Viking Age, had five bold predictions for this contest. I have a few ideas of my own about these prophecies. It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that I predict a different outcome. I mean, I’m not the fan of the Norsemen here.

I think it’s extremely important that I begin with this statement: this is not some misogynist attack on the author of the above article, Josie Rohach. Even a cursory glance at some of her work for FanSided proves this writer knows her stuff. I just happen to disagree with some of her points about the Seahawks – Vikings game, that’s all.

Seahawks site counters The Viking Age’s bold predictions for week 3

So let’s dive in, 12s. What exactly does the estimable Ms. Rohach boldly predict, and what does she get right? Yes, I do agree with her on a few of her points. Okay, maybe not a few. Actually, just one. For the sake of dramatic irony and the craft of storytelling, I’ll save my single agreement for the end.

In reverse order, then: her final prediction is that the Vikes will win in overtime versus our beloved Seahawks. Let’s address that right away, shall we? The Vikes aren’t winning this one. Yes, I agree that they’re a dangerous team. A few of us here at 12thManRising even agree and see a road loss for the Hawks. I don’t, and I especially don’t see a loss in overtime.

It isn’t that Seattle is a stranger to OT. In fact, Pete Carroll has a 7-6-1 record in the extra stanza, so he’s no stranger to those extra minutes. Seattle even played back-to-back overtime games in 2019, both wins. But how often does a team play two overtime games in a row? A lot less often than Kirk Cousins beats the Seahawks (he’s just 1-4, by the way).
