Seahawks need help and should be in contact with these 5 players
By Geoff Shull
Player to target #2: Jaime Collins, LB
Collins is likely going to be a hot commodity. He was recently released by the Lions after the team decided to go full-on youth movement. This maneuver by the Lions says nothing about Jaime Collins’ play, it’s simply the first season for a rebuilding team trying to evaluate young talent.
Bobby Wagner has been, well, Bobby Wagner. A great leader, and a consistent player maker. Jordyn Brooks has a lot of potential. Yet, he has made some bone-headed mistakes and been benched twice by Coach Carroll in three weeks. Cody Barton always looks out of position. He appears to be slow to react to the play.
Jaime Collins is a plug-and-play player. He is a chess piece that can do pretty much anything you need. He can play in coverage, stop the run, or rush the passer in a blitz. It’s this type of weapon that is needed to unlock Jamal Adams’ potential at safety.
Over the last two seasons, Collins has amassed 120 tackles, 6 fumbles, and 4 interceptions. The type of play-maker that is needed. This team thrives off of turnovers.
Collins will be able to choose from any number of teams. The Seahawks need to be one of them.
