The Saints do have a good running back and a strong secondary which can take the ball away, but their passing game, pass rush, and wins are not impressive. The Seahawks can win on Monday Night Football.

1. The Saints pass rush has been almost non-existent this year

New Orleans ranks near the bottom of the league in sacks this season, which means Geno Smith should have time to throw the ball. The Seahawks have also been smart with Smith, giving him more opportunities to make short throws to his receivers and running backs.

This more conservative approach could be successful against a dangerous secondary for New Orleans who likes to create interceptions. Geno Smith will need to check the ball down to be successful, as he did on Sunday night against the Steelers, and his recent success doing that is a good sign.

2. The Saints do not have good wide receivers

New Orleans has been conservative as well throwing the football after giving the quarterback position to Jameis Winston this year. Winston was one of the worst passers in the league in 2019, as he threw more interceptions than any other quarterback.

With Michael Thomas out due to injury this year, the Saints have yet to produce a receiver who averages over 100 yards receiving a game. Their best receiver Deonte Harris only averages 47.2 yards a game. This is indicative of how this team has become far less explosive in the post Drew Brees era in New Orleans.

3. The Saints resume is not impressive either

Except for a 38-3 win in week one over the Green Bay Packers, the Saints have not been too impressive. They lost to the (1-5) New York Giants in week four who look awful now. Their other wins came against the (2-4) Washington Football Team and New England Patriots (who are also 2-4).

Next. No controversy for the Seahawks at running back. dark

From an outsider’s perspective, they look like a team that relies on their defense to provide them with short fields by creating turnovers. While their offense relies on Alvin Kamara to provide the bulk of their scoring (Kamara leads the team in points scored).
