The Seattle Seahawks don’t appear to be on their way to the playoffs in 2021. So the team is likely to make some changes after the season is over. No, I am not predicting that Russell Wilson will be playing in a different jersey in 2022 because that is just not smart.

Russell Wilson is going to be playing for Seattle next year and the year after that. He is under contract through 2023. There were, of course, rumbles of Wilson not being happy this offseason. How much of those were due to his agent Mark Rodgers wanting to stir the proverbial pot for whatever reason or Wison himself, who knows?

Russell Wilson simply doesn’t have the power to force the Seahawks to trade him, just as Aaron Rodgers couldn’t force the Packers to trade him the last couple of seasons. Plus, Aaron Rodgers is five years older than Wilson. Wilson isn’t going anywhere.

Three Seahawks that won’t return in 2022

While each NFL team goes through some attrition every year, of course, Seattle has some very tough decisions to make on key players or former high-round draft picks. Seattle at 2-4 and already four games out of the NFC West division lead and with a lot of tough games left is probably not going to be in the postseason this year.

I don’t like writing that; I want the Seahawks to never lose and win the Super Bowl every season. But that doesn’t happen for any team so making 2022 better and making better front office decisions to help that happen must occur. This starts with which players to keep from the current roster.

Here are three players that probably aren’t Seahawks in 2022.
