Xavien Howard

The Seahawks have struggled at the cornerback position all season, and Xavien Howard would be the perfect trade target for them at the deadline. He would provide them with a consistent starter at the position who already has as many interceptions as the Seahawks entire team has this season (they both have 2 interceptions).

For his career, Howard has 24 interceptions in 62 games played, the Seahawks would love to have this ball-hawking cornerback on their team for the second half of the season. The only question is his cap-hit, and whether the Seahawks have enough cap space and draft picks to satisfy the Dolphins.

The Seahawks do not have a first-round pick next season because of the Jamal Adams trade with the Jets. Also, they only have about $12.3 million in cap space left for this season. Xavien Howard’s contract is expensive, as he is owed over $12 million over the next three seasons, plus he has an opt-out clause after this season.

Next. 3 Seahawks who won't be back in 2022. dark

This is a classic high-risk, high-reward move should the Seahawks follow through with a trade for Xavien Howard. However, it may be too difficult of a trade to pull off given Howard’s contract and Seattle’s lack of draft capital.
