Todd Gurley

I have written about Todd Gurley to the Seahawks before. Gurley is no where near the back he was in 2018 and before but like everyone else on this list, he wouldn’t need to come in and be the main focus of the rushing attack. But Gurley can catch the ball and knows how to score.

One of the things that made Gurley special early in his career is his knack for getting into the endzone. That hasn’t fully stopped either. While Gurley averaged just 3.7 yards a carry over the last two seasons, he still had 21 rushing touchdowns and another 2 receiving.

His 9 rushing touchdowns in 2020 were 10th in the NFL. And the 9 he had last year were the second-least he has had in any season in the NFL. Chris Carson has scored 9 touchdowns running in a season just one in 2018. Gurley was probably put in better situations to score than Carson, but offensive coordinator Shane Waldron should know ways to use Gurley.

Gurley also knows the design of the Waldron offense having played with the Rams while Waldron was coaching there. Though Waldron’s scheme doesn’t seem to have been fully developed (in comparison to its Rams counterpart) this year, Gurley might help with that development and make the Seahawks offense better.
