The Seattle Seahawks absolutely must have a victory in week 11 against the Cardinals. But not only does Arizona appear to be the superior team in 2021, Seattle’s offense is also getting worse as the season goes on. Oh, and the Cardinals have a good defense.

There is now a decent chance that Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray plays on Sunday. He has been dealing with an ankle injury and has been limited in practice this week after missing his last two games. More on that in just a bit, though.

Seattle is also just 2-3 in its last five home games against the Cardinals. For whatever reason, Seattle recently does better against the Cardinals in Arizona than they do against the Cards in Seattle. This game is at Lumen Field in Seattle.

Here are five predictions on what will happen in week 11 when the Seahawks play the Cardinals.

5 predictions for Seahawks and Cardinals week 11

Number 1: The Seahawks run more than throw by design

Pete Carroll said he wanted to run the ball more in 2021 and Seattle has done that a bit but they still certainly throw the ball a lot more than run it. Against the Packers, a team with a better pass defense than run defense, Seattle stubbornly stuck with a clearly-not-healthy Russell Wilson dropping back to pass 43 times and Seattle’s running backs ran just 11 times. Seattle didn’t score a point.

The Cardinals defense is a lot like the Packers in that they are a good defense overall but better in pass defense. This week, Seattle will use Alex Collins, Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas more (yes, Rashaad Penny is still on the team but is not important). Seattle will run efficiently and that will help to not have such a lopsided time of possession in favor of Seattle’s opponent.
