Finish Strong

It is no secret that things are going to get noisy in Seattle. For weeks now, rumors have been spreading about Russell Wilson and where he would waive his no-trade clause. You should definitely expect that to ramp up, even though I don’t think there is much truth to it.

Secondly, the direction of this future lays in the hands of Jody Allen. We don’t know what is going to happen with Pete Carroll or John Schneider. Both of them have had their share of success together, but it appears that change is coming and it will probably start with them.

I know many fans are livid over the missed pass interference call against the Rams. Believe me, I am with you on that. It was a really brutal way to end the game with so much on the line. Especially, when the penalty is so egregious with two refs standing right there. Nonetheless, the Seahawks have pride on the line. More importantly, tanking does not help them as the Jets own their first-round pick.

Plus, I can’t imagine Pete Carroll ever tanking. The good news is that the Seattle Seahawks have three winnable games remaining: Bears, Lions and Cardinals. These last three games certainly will serve as an audition for many young players. RT Jake Curhan has stepped in for Brandon Shell over the last two games and has done a pretty solid job.

He may have an opportunity here to finish strong and earn himself some playing time next year. Rookie offensive coordinator, Shane Waldron, has a chance to finish strong and grow his rapport with Russell Wilson.

Speaking of Russell Wilson, he will also be presented with a chance to get back to being himself. As of late, he’s been off with his reads and some of his throws. Regardless of what happens down the stretch, my belief in him and his capabilities will not waver. I personally believe this team is a playoff team and was on the wrong side of some unfortunate breaks this year.

Although, I think it is blatantly obvious that they need improvement in certain areas. Those improvements alone, even the smallest of ones, tend to be the difference of perineal playoff team to legit Super Bowl contender.

The media will lay the hammer and ridicule this team, but I like a lot about this roster and even if there is a major change to coaching, I still believe in this squad.
