The 5-9 Seattle Seahawks play the 4-10 Chicago Bears on Sunday in Week 16 of the 2021 NFL season. While Seattle isn’t mathematically eliminated from the postseason they realistically are.

All-time Seattle leads the series against the Bears 11-5. Since Russell Wilson became Seattle’s quarterback in 2012, Seattle has won two of three games against Chicago. The Bears did win the last meeting in Week 2 of the 2018 season, however.

Chicago has the 7th-ranked rushing attack in the NFL (125.2 yards per game) but is 29th in scoring (17.1 points a game). Seattle is 24th in points per game (20.1). The Bears are 29th in quarterback rating (75.6).

This all plays out well on paper for the Seahawks as Seattle is first in yards-per-rush allowed (3.8) and is fourth in points-allowed (20.1 per game). This seems to imply Russell Wilson and Seattle should win a low-scoring game in Week 16.

Seahawks Injury Report vs. Bears Week 16

The Seahawks will be getting a bunch of players off of the COVID/reserve for Sunday’s game. And their injury report is pretty light with only backup linebacker Jon Rhattigan listed as out. Cornerback Bless Austin was placed on the COVID list, though, so he won’t play either most likely. Seattle still has tight end Will Dissly, defensive tackle Bryan Mone, right tackle Brandon Shell and cornerback D.J. Reed on the COVID list, however. They are all unlikely to play against the Bears.

Even though Chicago will be starting backup quarterback Nick Foles at quarterback, Seattle might struggle against the pass as Seattle will probably be missing three of its top cornerbacks due to COVID or injury (Reed, Austin and Tre Brown). This means John Reid might get his first start at corner and that isn’t good.

Chicago has four players listed as out. These include offensive tackle Jason Peters, quarterback Andy Dalton, receiver Jakeem Grant and corner Xavier Crawford. Starting quarterback Justin Fields is listed as questionable with an ankle injury and will serve as a backup to Foles even if he is active for the game.
