Quandre Diggs

Quandre Diggs is arguably the Seahawks best defensive player in 2021. He leads the team in interceptions with 5 (the rest of the team combined has 3), will finish third in tackles by the end of the year and is just one of two Seattle Pro Bowlers. In 36 games with Seattle, Diggs has 13 interceptions. In fact, Diggs is 15th all-time for Seattle in number of interceptions.

But Diggs is grossly underpaid currently. He is the 26th-highest-paid safety in the NFL and makes $3.625 million in 2021. Hopefully, Seattle will make the right decision and pay Diggs a lot more starting in 2022. Diggs is still just 28 years old and should have several good years left to play at a high level.

But will Seattle pay Diggs is the question. He is a free agent after this year and can go wherever he pleases. Seattle certainly won’t franchise tag him. John Schneider doesn’t like being too aggressive in free agency but Diggs needs to be the exception to his rule. Diggs is the best safety Seattle currently has. Yes, he is better than Jamal Adams right now.

Seattle will have a top-ten number in cap space in 2022 and some of that needs to go towards Diggs. The Seahawks currently have no one on the roster anywhere near Diggs capability and there will be no free agent who fits as well with Seattle. But if he wants $10 million or more a season, Seattle might let him walk.
