3 takeaways from Seattle Seahawks feel-good Week 17 win

The show we’ve been waiting for
The Seattle Seahawks offense was unstoppable in Week 17. Nine different players caught passes from Russell Wilson. They racked up nearly 500 total yards. The offensive line did a great job in both the run and pass game. They were able to win the time of possession battle. Most importantly, they were very efficient on third down, finishing 7-12.
How good has Rashaad Penny been? Once again in Week 17, he looked great as he racked up 150+ rushing yards and 2 touchdowns. As mentioned numerous times during the broadcast, Adrian Peterson has had a huge impact on Penny. The Seattle Seahawks may want to think about bringing him in as a coach for the future. Seattle has received a lot of heat for selecting Penny in the 1st round back in 2018. But, when he’s healthy, he sure does look like a 1st rounder. Watching that game on Sunday, I just kept thinking how special of a backfield Penny and Carson could be.
Speaking of impressive, how about D.K. Metcalf finally going off? After all the nonsense that he and Wilson had some beef and that they weren’t on the same page, they decided to shut everyone up by connecting on 3 touchdowns. The two just couldn’t be stopped. That was the type of game that serves as a building block for future success. Not just between Russell Wilson and D.K. Metcalf, but for every offensive player.
One of whom is Gerald Everett. With the offseason knocking on the door, the Seattle Seahawks should focus on resigning TE Gerald Everett. Towards the end of this season, Everett has really come on and been a huge factor for this offense. He seems to be finding his footing in this offseason and has earned the trust of Russell Wilson as his security blanket. I’ve been saying it all season long, but this offense with Wilson, Penny, Carson, Everett, Metcalf and Lockett has so much potential for greatness. In my opinion, it wouldn’t be wise for Seattle to blow that all up.
