Minnesota Vikings

Everett would be a very good fit with the Vikings because of his time with the Rams. Minnesota runs a wide-zone blocking scheme which is exactly what Los Angeles does as well. But Everett, as 12s all know, is much more versatile than just a blocking tight end.

Minnesota should get Irv Smith, Jr. back in 2022 but certainly needs a second tight end to help complete the offense. This is especially true if the Vikings hire Jim Harbaugh as coach because he will want an offense that is more force than smoothness. Having two tight ends who can catch and run would be exactly what Harbaugh wants.

In 2021, Tyler Conklin was far and away the Vikings best option at tight end. He had 61 receptions and the next best on the roster was Chris Herndon with 4 catches. But Conklin is extremely limited in his athletic ability and turned those 61 catches into just 593 yards, an average of only 9.7 yards a catch and he scored just 3 touchdowns.

Everett would be a massive upgrade over Conklin and coupled with a healthy Smith would potentially give the Vikings one of the better tight end duos in the NFL. With Dalvin Cook at running back, two good receivers and two good tight ends, Minnesota would be in for a bounce-back season in 2022.
