Five surprising players Seahawks could trade for in 2022 offseason
By Geoff Shull
The Seattle Seahawks are entering another huge offseason. After the 2021 campaign went into smoke, the team has huge decisions to make over the next few months.
The first big decisions have already been made. Both the coach and GM are returning for the 2022 season. With Pete Carroll thoroughly in his 70s, a rebuild is likely out of the question.
This would signal that fans should expect the team to go all-out once again to try to win this season as opposed to a soft/hard reset. It also makes a Russell Wilson trade very unlikely.
5 Surprising players the Seahawks could target this offseason in a trade.
In order for the Seahawks to successfully make it back to the playoffs, they will need to do two things. First, they will need to acquire better depth. Injuries happen. When they occurred last year, the season was completely derailed. Yes, it is not every year the QB gets hurt. However, other positions definitely aided in the downfall of the season.
Second, the team needs an injection of fresh talent into the roster. They have plenty of aging stars. However, they lack many blue-chip talents in their prime. They lack players with huge potentials left to be tapped into.
They attempted to acquire a player of this caliber in Jamal Adams but grossly overpaid. Adams has already been largely ineffective and injury-prone during his tenure.
That being said, some very attractive names will likely be available in the trade market this year. Follow me through the slides to see some of the names and players that the Seahawks could be genuinely interested in.
