C Matt Paradis

One important note about some of these signings is that not all investments are for the long term. The Seattle Seahawks feel their Super Bowl window is open and thus, the free agent moves they make must correspond with that. But, on the same note, with only $35 million dollars projected in cap space — with a handful of their own players they’d like to retain — they must be smart in how they spend that money.

Free agent center Matt Paradis fits with Seattle for two reasons. First, he was one of the least penalized centers in all of 2021, and only let up 2 sacks. With a guy like Aaron Donald in the division, solid interior protection is a must. Secondly, he will be coming off a torn ACL, which in essence, brings down his market value in free agency. A severe injury like that coupled with his age can open the door for the Seahawks to sign him on a reasonable deal.

The good news is, despite tearing his ACL in November of 2021, Paradis has been an iron man for the majority of his career. Another potential option would be C Justin Britt, the former Seahawk. But, in order to really improve this offensive line, Seattle must sign established players in this league. Paradis has proven he is one of those guys at his position.
