C Ryan Jensen

One of the glaring holes of the Seahawks offensive line last year was the center position. Enter Ryan Jensen of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. If the Seahawks want to prove to Russell Wilson that they are willing to invest to keep him protected, what better way to show that than by signing the guy who kept QB Tom Brady protected last season.

Seattle has yet to figure out how to sign their own free agent center Ethan Pocic. Even if the Seahawks manage to sign him back, the team must still try to land Jensen. Of course, Jensen will not come in cheap as centers in the NFL command big dollars in the open market and are highly sought after, but with some money to spend this is not the time to cheap out on free agents.

Last season, Ryan Jensen played 1,151 offensive snaps, with only 5 penalties and 2 sacks allowed. Those are the kind of numbers Seahawks should be clamoring for.  Having one of the best centers in the league last season will greatly improve the Seahawks’ offense against a good pass rush interior defense.  Signing center Ryan Jensen will show Russell Wilson and the Seattle fan base their commitment to improving the team to be able to contend for the title next season.
