Seattle Seahawks: 3 free agent cornerbacks they should target

Realistically, given the cap situation, the Seahawks best option after re-signing D.J. Reed would be CB Rasul Douglas. Coming off a career year, Douglas is going to hit the free agency market as a hot commodity. Although he has stated his hopes for returning to Green Bay, that is going to be quite difficult as Green Bay is $50 million over the cap. Doubted ever since being drafted in 2017, Douglas provided a glimpse of his potential after the Green Bay Packers claimed him off the Arizona Cardinals practice squad in October.
Only playing 12 games with Green Bay, Douglas led the team and tied for fourth in the league for interceptions with five. According to PFF, of 88 cornerbacks to play at least 50 percent of defensive snaps, Douglas finished second in passer rating, seventh in catch percentage and eleventh in forced incompletion percentage. Most notably, he had the game-winning interception against the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday Night Football that was seen on national television.

A lengthy physical corner can serve wonders for Seattle on the left side. Remember, they initially tried this with Tre Flowers, but it didn’t go as planned. Douglas, coming off make minimum dollars will be looking for a pay increase. One Seattle can most likely afford. If they can offer him around $8 million per year, they should have a legit chance of signing him. Many may feel he is a one-hit-wonder, but he could also be a gem who was finally given his chance.
