The Seattle Seahawks offseason is officially here! What a wonderful time of the year. The off-season, player decisions, salary cap, free agency, and the draft is honestly my favorite side of the NFL.

I am a numbers guy, all about analytics, and putting the puzzle pieces together. The actual football season is just seeing all the hard work from the off-season paying off (or not).

The next couple of months are gold for the offseason. The 2022 NFL Draft combine is ongoing through the end of this weekend. March 8th is the deadline for clubs to use the franchise tag (cough, cough, Quandre Diggs). March 14th is the unofficial start of free agency. While March 16th starts the new league year/ official start of free agency.

April brings the off-season workouts for the players and coaches. Restricted free agents have to officially sign their offer sheets by April 22nd. Finally, April 28th- 30th is the NFL Draft. I don’t care what anyone says, this is a phenomenal draft, and a phenomenal opportunity.

Ranking the top 5 players I expect the Seahawks to re-sign.

I know it’s gone around for a while that this draft is not a good one. Anyone surmising this has not studied the players enough. Yes, the QB draft is very poor this year. I don’t think any of the QBs would have ranked in the top 5 of last year’s class. Yes, there are very few true top-tier talents. The top 10 of the draft is deflated.

However, the depth is amazing. There is so much quality talent between rounds 2 through 4, it’s crazy! Players with second-round grades will be available well into round four. There are also a whole lot of sleepers. Who those sleepers are will be another article entirely.

However, before I dive too far down the draft rabbit hole, we have free agency and contracts to talk about. The Seahawks have many marquee free agents this year and I expect them to be aggressive to re-sign many of them.

After listening to John Schneider and Pete Carroll speak at the combine, I have come up with what I believe the five most important players to re-sign are. This article has them in order.
