The Seattle Seahawks have remade their defensive coaching staff this offseason. Now with the help of Karl Scott, they can remake the roster a bit.

Scott is joining the Seahawks as the passing game coordinator and defensive backs coach. He spent a season with the Minnesota Vikings after spending a few years before that coaching DBs at the University of Alabama. Several of Scott’s players have been impact players in the NFL.

And Seattle needs more impact players – and players who aren’t afraid to play aggressively – to help them be better on defense in 2022. Here are three players who could follow Scott to Seattle.

Xavier Woods

Xavier Woods played his first four seasons in Dallas and wasn’t bad and then signed a one-year deal for $2.25 million last offseason with the Vikings. Woods had arguably his best season in the NFL with Minnesota this past season with a career-high 3 interceptions and 108 tackles. Woods also set a career-high in passes defended with 10.

Where Woods would really be an attribute to Seattle is he can play either safety spot. This means if Seattle doesn’t re-sign Quandre Diggs Woods could take over at free safety. It also means that while playing free safety and Jamal Adams inevitably gets injured in 2022, he could slide over to strong safety if needed.
