The Seattle Seahawks traded Russell Wilson to the Broncos on Tuesday and picked up important 2022 NFL draft picks. Where does Seattle choose now?

While losing the best quarterback in franchise history isn’t a fun thing for 12s to have to go through, general manager John Schneider and head coach Pete Carroll did at least give themselves a chance to rebuild the team with all the draft picks they got back from Denver.

The Seahawks traded the 33-year-old Wilson and released the soon-to-be 32-year-old Bobby Wagner on Tuesday so the team is sure to be younger in 2022. Hopefully, the team will be faster and more aggressive, especially defensively, as well.

One way to get faster and more aggressive is to add young players hungry to make their mark on the NFL. This can be done, of course, through the NFL draft and Seattle now has eight picks this year and added two high-round picks.

This is how Seattle’s current draft order looks. This could change, of course, as it doesn’t feel like the Seahawks are done making moves.

Round one, number 9 overall (in trade from Broncos)

Round two, number 40 overall (in trade from Broncos)

Round two, number 41 overall

Round three, number 72 overall

Let me stop here for a second. Notice that Seattle, who didn’t have a first-round draft pick before the Wilson trade, now has four picks in the top 72. That is pretty good.

Round four, number 107 overall

Round five, pick 151 overall

Round five, pick 152 overall (in trade from Broncos)

Round seven, pick 227 overall

Next. 3 potential replacements for Russell Wilson. dark

In essence, Schneider and Carroll have mortgaged their careers with the Seahawks on the trade of Russell Wilson. If they make good draft choices, great and the franchise is set up for success for several years. If they miss on the draft picks, especially the high ones – and they have a recent history of doing so (LJ Collier, Malik McDowell, etc.) – then Schneider and Carroll have doomed the team.
