In the heels of a blockbuster trade that saw their franchise QB Russell Wilson shipped to the Denver Broncos, these Seahawks players are not deserving to return for the 2022 season.
There is no denying that the 2021 season for the Seattle Seahawks was a colossal disappointment. Finishing at the bottom of NFC West and having to watch their own division rival LA Rams win SBLVI was a tough pill to swallow. After a frustrating end to their season, everyone knew changes were coming.
On Tuesday, Ian Rapoport broke the internet and rocked every football fan in North America when he reported that Seattle Seahawks pulled a blockbuster deal in which they traded long-time QB Russell Wilson.
The trade involved Wilson and a 2022 fourth-round pick in exchange for Denver Broncos’ 2022 first-round pick (9th overall), 2022 second-round pick, 2023 first-round pick, 2023 second-round pick, QB Drew Lock, defensive end Shelby Harris, and tight end Noah Fant.

The massive deal signaled a shift in the direction of the Seahawks – it’s rebuilding time! Seattle fan base is now left scratching their heads and searching for answers on why the sudden change of direction following reports from Wilson and the team just weeks prior that he wasn’t going anywhere. Regardless of how the Seahawks’ upper management explains the trade, the reality is that Russ is no longer a Seahawk and a new era will commence soon.
