C Ethan Pocic

It is no secret that The Seattle Seahawks offensive line has been a weakness of the team for the past two years. At the middle of the offensive line woes is their center position.

One of the biggest problems with Pocic is that he has been injured throughout his career since he entered the league. Pocic cannot stay healthy on the field and has missed 23 games due to injuries including three different stints in the IR.

Even though he improved as a run blocker last season, his pass protection dropped allowing 18 pressures and more quarterback hits to Russell Wilson. Those stats will be detrimental to a rebuilding team especially if the Seahawks start the season with a none mobile QB.

It is important for the Seahawks to address the center position correctly as to not have the same ongoing issue every year just like they had during Russell Wilson’s time. The Seahawks should just let Pocic get his pay raise somewhere else and let him walk. Paying him to come back and be a starter will not help this team this season nor will he be a long-term solution. Seattle should look for a younger center through the draft and develop him through the system.
