Seahawks receiver DK Metcalf is tired of people talking negatively about Drew Lock and he took to Twitter to give his opinion on it.

And Metcalf is right. Maybe some of the negativity about Lock isn’t coming from Seattle. I mean, 12s haven’t seen Drew Lock in a Seahawks uniform yet so we wouldn’t stoop so low to not be welcoming to Lock to coming to Seattle, correct? (Or would we?)

Drew Lock hasn’t been in the NFL very long and yet the ridicule of him seems to outweigh his career. But DK Metcalf might know about Lock more than most 12s do because Metcalf, of course, is an NFL receiver who understands what it takes to be a good NFL quarterback.

DK Metcalf tweets that the Drew Lock ‘slander’ should stop

Now, don’t get me wrong. I don’t mean to say football fans don’t know anything about football; That would be dumb. But it is unfair to Lock to judge him before he has even stepped foot on the field with Metcalf and Tyler Lockett in what might be a good offensive system for Lock.

First of all, the offensive system in Denver was putrid no matter who the quarterback was. There were talented receivers and a decent running back but not great blocking. Plus, there’s a reason that the Broncos coaches have all been replaced: They weren’t very good.

I am not saying that I think or expect Drew Lock to turn a 180 in Seattle and suddenly be a Pro Bowl quarterback. But he doesn’t need to be. Pete Carroll wants a “point guard” at quarterback and Lock can do that.

Next. 3 signings that would instantly improve Seahawks offensive line. dark

Lock might be able to do this. We should probably at least give him to show he can’t. If DK Metcalf wants people to stop the “slander” of Lock, maybe we should until Lock shows us otherwise while he is in a Seahawks uniform.
