The receiver market is crazy hot in the NFL. Should the Seattle Seahawks trade DK Metcalf? One Detroit Lions fan site thinks so but their idea for a trade offer seems unworthy.

No offense to the people at Pride of Detroit but their idea for a trade that would bring DK Metcalf to Detroit, one that was published just yesterday, seems to have not followed recent events with other top receivers involved. If Detroit is going to try to add Metcalf, then they are going to have to offer John Schneider and Pete Carroll a lot more than Pride of Detriot’s idea.

The trade would involve the Lions giving the Seahawks the second overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft plus the 181st overall choice (a sixth-round pick) for Seattle’s first-round choice in 2022 (9th overall), one of their second-round picks (41st overall) and DK Metcalf. I mean…what?

A Lions site offers a not-good idea for a trade involving DK Metcalf

That trade would be stupid for the Seahawks to do. Maybe Detroit should give their first-round pick for DK Metcalf straight up? That wouldn’t be wise for the Lions to do but it’s a more realistic value than Detroit getting Seattle first-round and second-round picks and DK Metcalf for, in essence, the second overall choice in this year’s draft.

Plus, the article’s argument is that the Seahawks need a quarterback to replace Russell Wilson and Seattle might want Malik Willis in the draft. That’s possibly true. But there is a decent chance Willis is still around at pick number 9 anyway. Seattle doesn’t need to move up to pick two to grab Willis, most likely, and even if they did Seattle wouldn’t give up DK Metcalf as part of that deal.

Heck, maybe offer Detroit the 9th overall pick plus pick number 41 for pick number 2? But giving those draft picks and DK Metcalf for pick number 2? Come on. That’s silly.
