Round 2, Pick 40 (via DEN)

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Oklahoma. player. 815. EDGE. NikBonitto. 37

Edge rusher out of Oklahoma, Nik Bonitto will fit right into the newly formed 3-4 defense for the Seahawks. As described by one draft analyst, Bonitto is a “unicorn”. His speed jumps off the screen. He ran a 4.54 40-time at the combine and is known for having one of the better get-offs in the draft. He will enter the NFL with all the attributes of being an effective pass rusher. In his last two seasons at Oklahoma, Bonitto earned a 90+ grade from PFF in the pass-rushing department. His instincts combined with his quick feet and pure athleticism will allow him to make an impact on day one for the Seahawks.

Round 2, Pick 41

player. 841. MattCorral. Ole Miss. 44. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. QB

Matt Corral out of Ole Miss can resemble most of what Russell Wilson did early on in his tenure with the Seahawks. His athleticism allowed him to keep plays alive with his feet. His big arm allowed him to be very successful off the play-action after establishing the run with Marshawn Lynch. Despite the injury concerns, many around the league believe Corral is in fact the best quarterback in the draft. Over the last two seasons in the SEC, Corral ranked first in yards, touchdowns and big-time throws. Doing that against NFL ready type defensive competition is very impressive. Getting him at 41 would be a steal.

Round 3, Pick 72

A versatile tackle out of Louisiana-Lafayette will enter the NFL with the necessary skills to play either tackle position. That serves as good news for the Seahawks as LT Duane Brown remains a free agent. If he were to come back, Mitchell can move over to the right side–where he is more comfortable–or if not, Mitchell can take over the left side. PFF classified Mitchell as the highest-graded right tackle in all of college football in 2021. While he comes from a run-first system, he displayed his skillset when allowing only 1 pressure on 47-pass blocking snaps against Texas in 2021. He has made an appearance in nearly all of my mock drafts as I think he can serve as one of the pillars for this offensive line in the upcoming years.
